Better Foam Means Better Futon Mattresses

All of our futon mattresses are made with only 1.8 high density foam or greater.* Only 1.8 density foam earns the manufacturer's 10 year rating. This means that the foam will last and hold up under years of use, remaining comfortable and keeping its shape.

Unfortunately it is a reality of the futon industry that in order to cut costs, most futon mattresses today are made with inferior, low-density foam. The problem with low density foam is that it does not last. It breaks down and looses its shape quickly. Since foam is used in futons for comfort and longevity, cheap low-density foam means a futon mattress that is misshapen and hard much sooner than is necessary.

*The Gemini has a 4.0 density foam core.
